ABC (Before School) and Universal Free Breakfast Club

Our popular ABC – Ashcombe Breakfast Club provides a safe, welcoming start to the day for children from 7:30am each morning.

Children attending ABC can enjoy a relaxed and social environment before the school day begins, with a choice of breakfast options including:

• A range of breakfast cereals
• Toast with jam, honey or Marmite
• Fresh fruit
• Yoghurt
• There will also be themed weeks and special menu days throughout the year to add variety and excitement

All children attending ABC must be signed in by an adult and should not arrive unaccompanied.

Booking and Cost

Our early start breakfast club opens at 7.30am and is now available at a reduced cost of £2.50 per session.

• Advance booking is required.
• Sessions can be booked through ParentPay.
• Payment can be made daily or weekly in advance.
• Registration closes at 8:00am when the Universal Free Breakfast club begins

Universal Free Breakfast Club (From September 2026)

We are delighted to announce that Ashcombe Primary School will be launching a Universal Free Breakfast Club from September 2026, supporting the government's ambition to provide free breakfast clubs nationally by 2027.

Alongside this exciting new provision, our existing ABC Early Start Breakfast Club will continue to operate from 7:30am.

Times

• Free Breakfast Club: 8:00am to 8:45am
• No advance booking required
• Registration closes promptly at 8:15am

What's on Offer?

Children attending the free breakfast club will be able to choose from:

• A range of breakfast cereals
• Toast with jam, honey or Marmite
• Fresh fruit
• Yoghurt
• There will also be themed weeks and special menu days throughout the year to add variety and excitement.

The club will be supervised by a combination of: Our existing breakfast club team, Sports coaches, Senior leaders and other members of school staff.

As one of the largest primary schools launching a free breakfast club, some arrangements may evolve as we learn what works best for our children and families.

Our Breakfast Clubs are designed to give children a calm and positive start to the school day. By providing a healthy breakfast, time to socialise with friends and a relaxed "soft start" to the morning, children can arrive in class feeling settled, confident and ready to learn.

Raskoolz (After School)

Raskoolz After school club, is a school based childcare facility and runs term time only from 3.15pm until 6pm daily. Children can attend flexibly but need to be registered and booked into each session in advance.

Once registered, bookings can be made by logging into parent pay and clicking on the Raskoolz option and booking the sessions required.  This is the same option to cancel the bookings also, but this needs to be done by 10.30 on the day to avoid being charged. 

The cost per session is £10 from term four 2025, plus an additional annual family registration fee of £10. Children are able to choose from various play activities with qualified playworkers providing supervision, as well as receiving a small snack and drink during the session.  

To collect your child, please arrive at reception and call 07749 248554 where a member of the Raskoolz team will bring your child to you. 

To register for Raskoolz please complete and return the registration form which can be found below. Copies of this form are also available from the school office.
