School Work Experience
Here at Ashcombe we take pride in supporting secondary school students with work experience placements, this provides students with a valuable opportunity to explore real-world working environments while developing essential life and career skills. Through hands-on experience in various departments of the school, students gain practical insights into the world of work in education.
What Students Do:

Classroom Support: Assist teachers with lesson materials, student supervision, and learning activities.

Administrative Tasks: Help with filing, photocopying, organizing resources, and managing supplies.

Student Engagement: Work with younger students during reading sessions, group activities, and break times.

Event Assistance: Take part in preparing for assemblies, school events, or extracurricular programs.

We are unable to accept work experience applications from children who have siblings currently enrolled at Ashcombe Primary.

Become a School Volunteer – Make a Difference!
Are you passionate about education, helping others, or giving back to the community? Join our School Volunteer Program and make a lasting impact on students' lives.
We work in partnership with local colleges and community establishments to offer student placements and volunteer opportunities.
What You’ll Do:

Assist teachers with classroom activities and lesson support

Help students with reading, writing, and homework

Supervise during lunch, break times, or school trips

Support school events, fundraisers, and community programs

Be a positive role model and friendly face for students

PLEASE NOTE: All adult students and volunteers will be required to apply for a DBS and provide references for safeguarding procedures. We can offer support for DBS applications for our regular volunteers.
